Year XI

Michigan

Another year around the sun while living on the road. From freezing cold to burning hot in Missouri, we traveled to Michigan in March, seeking out milder weather during the nicer months. It was chilly when we first arrived in March and rained a lot in the spring but the summer is proving why Up North is a perfect summer destination: mild temperatures with only a few hot and rain days.

LOZ

We left Lake of the Ozarks in March, traveled up to Illinois, across Indiana, and continued into Michigan, where we will be until the end of October. After October, we will be back to the snowbird lifestyle and spend the winter in Florida.

Campground set up

The RV is now eleven years old and needed a few more repairs but nothing like last year (thank goodness):

  • New RV and truck tires.
  • New flooring (removed carpet and replaced with vinyl flooring).
  • Installed a tankless water heater (GAME CHANGER!!!) with a new showerhead.
  • Roof cleaned and re-sealed (the roof should be good for another 10 years).
  • New awning (a three person job and took an hour).

Ripped awning

Fun activities in the last year definitely includes the cruise we took in November (not with the RV, lol but we traveled to 2 new countries), Mackinac Island, Charlevoix, and Sleeping Bear Dunes (blog post to follow about our Michigan travels).

Virgin Voyages cruise: Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Bimini

Looking forward to the fall in Michigan as we have few local activities planned and maybe we can talk Buckley into joining us to see some fall colors.
